Following graduation, John spent two years in private practice in Parkes in country NSW, before returning to Sydney to undertake specialist training in Prosthodontics. His Master of Dental Science program involved undertaking research in the area of implant education for undergraduate dental students.
John is actively involved in teaching all areas of removable, fixed, and implant Prosthodontics. He is the current President of the Academy of Australian and New Zealand Prosthodontists (AANZP), and travels widely as a speaker and fellow for the International Team for Implantology (ITI). He also delivers lectures and hands-on training for various implant companies, and teaches on occasion at the University of Sydney and Charles Sturt University. His special clinical interests are in Removable Prosthodontics (dentures), implant reconstructions and gold restorations.
John enjoys reading across a wide variety of topics, and playing the guitar at his local church on Sundays. John’s family and two young children keep him far too busy, but he does manage to sneak in some serious fishing during holidays!
